Memories of Times long past

Sigh... Good afternoon.

Finally some time to rest. It's been so long since I spent an entire day packing up the house. This time it's different. It's an entire overhaul, and I basically went through ALL my things, even those aged 15 and above ( I actually mean the items' age). These included toys, model cars, and class photos.
Now, class photos are precious things. These are the ones that make you smile and laugh at how you used to look, and then grants you authority over victims who used to look really amusing; pictures that can be used for blackmail during Christmas parties ( it's around the corner, isn't it. That's convenient) =D

With those memories fresh (after a little renewing), I did what most would do; go crazy on Facebook and start searching them up. With a little help from friends from primary school whom I still have in relative contact on FB, I managed to dig up easily twenty to thirty people on pending invites. I guess a gathering can be arranged if everyone's keen. I'll probably scan a few pictures in after I return from the extended sailing.

Oh I haven't mentioned.. To those who aren't aware, I'll be away from the 8th Dec (that's tomorrow) till the 17th Dec. After which I'll be on leave for the Christmas and New Year holidays =). Also, the home reno will be complete by then. I'll plug in a few pictures for all to see ( just a few, just to leave enough curiosity to draw people to come during housewarming (if there'll be one). It took awhile, but finally it'll be so. I longed for it, and now, SUCCESS! wheeee~ *twirls around the room*

Much has been accomplished this year. So so much. And so much has happened too, be it in the family or social life-wise. I pray that 09 will be a good and bountiful year, for all, near or far.

I guess the blog will also require some reno to suit my room. Any offers from the public? =)

Floorplans are readily available
Please submit proposal and quotations,
or drop me a call/msg/msn =)

Alright people, take great care.

Memories Echo Back and Forth.

Lonely September

I'm sitting here all by myself
Just trying to think of something to do

Trying to think of something, anything
Just to keep me from thinking of you

But you know it's not working out
'cause you're all that's on my mind

One thought of you is all it takes
To leave the rest of the world behind

Well, I didn't mean for this to go, as far as it did
And I didn't mean to get so close, and share what we did
And I didn't mean to fall in love, but I did
And you didn't mean to love me back but I know you did

I'm sittin' here tryin' to convince myself
That you're not the one for me

But the more I think, the less I believe it
And the more I want you here with me

You know the holidays are coming up
I don't want to spend them alone

Memories of Christmas time with you
Will just kill me if I'm on my own

Well I didn't mean for this to go, as far as it did
And I didn't mean to get so close, and share what we did
And I didn't mean to fall in love, but I did
And you didn't mean to love me back

I know it's not the smartest thing to do
We just can't seem to get it right

But what I wouldn't give to have one more chance tonight
One more chance tonight

I'm sittin' here tryin' to entertain myself
With this old guitar

But with all my inspiration gone
It's not getting me very far

I look around my room and
Everything I see reminds me of you

Oh please, baby won't you take my hand
We've got nothing left to prove

Well I didn't mean for this to go, as far as it did
And I didn't mean to get so close, and share what we did
And I didn't mean to fall in love, but I did
And you didn't mean to love me back but I know you did

And I didn't mean to meet you then, we were just kids
And I didn't mean to give you chills, the way that I kiss
And I didn't mean to fall in love, but I did
And you didn't mean to love me back but I know you did
Don't say you didn't love me back 'cause you know you did
No, you didn't mean to love me back
But you did

A dedication. Enjoy.

Where can one find a cup of Peace.

Good Morning all.

Been having a rollercoaster moment in my life. Sometimes don't we all wonder where can one find peace? Some say, find peace from within, from one's self. But how is it adequate? I wonder.

So much going on in my life. Not that I can't take it. Just that, some things are old matters left unresolved, and solving them proves a pain in the rear. Thought to be over, but new sources of information surface, and the jigsaw piecing re-begins.

Bah. Get some rest I guess. Throat turning scratchy.

Nights all

ZzzzZ~~

Good Night to all. Tis' late, I know.

Haven't been able to update much the past few days... I guess it's just one of those weeks where your routine just piles up on you... At least I'll get plenty of free time after Tuesday.. ( That is if shit DOESN'T hit the fan.) It's about time I got some rest and took a tiny bit of leave... =D

Went down to E-Hub at Downtown East briefly to check it out, have a look at what NTUC has done with our money, and had dinner there. Guess what I stumbled on? The original Chatterbox chicken rice chef apparently opened his own outlet there, and boy was the queue long...
A pity...
I still find that Maxwell Food Centre's 天天chicken rice trumps over all the other chicken rice competition that Singapore can muster. That brings me to the point; I haven't been there in ages. Maybe I should, during my off days.

A fair deal of events have taken place over the past 1 week, or rather, past 4days. I guess it's a start, and more will soon follow...

Moments ago I was listening to my random mish-mash pile of music and chanced upon this one:

Together in Electric Dreams by Human League
I only knew you for awhile
I never saw your smile
till it was time to go
Time to go away
Sometimes its hard to recognize
Love comes as a surprise
And its too late
Its just too late to stay
Too late to stay

We'll always be together
However far it seems
(love never ends)
We'll always be together
Together in electric dreams

Been doing alot of pondering these days, and I guess I gotta be patient and wait to play my cards right. There's so much to sort out in a short span... What should be the intended course of action?

Thus, life is such a hassle sometimes, why not just end the world with a massive flood? =P

Update Update~~

Back~ Well, a little over the supposed 8hours.. Can't help it. Slept a little longer than I was supposed to... Anyways

Went off to pick up a watch from Fossil. Errands.. Lol..

Headed to Robinson's for a little walk-a-talk-a-shop. Hmm... I so very much need new clothes... and shoes... and a phone... and books... and urm.. yeah. Lots, actually.. =P
Bought another jacket. That'll be like my 4th jacket this year. =P

Never really was brought out to try clothes before... Except during New Year shopping sprees... Thank you for doing so, sweets. =P Many more to come right? =D

As usual, more food moments. Where to today?

Shokudo
Essentially a Japanese remake of the popular open-concept Marche Restaurants. Features many fusion-esque cuisine, adding another member to the Jap-Western fusion-istas. The market is so saturated with such themed restaurants to a point where it puts a strain on each other, with each fighting for market share by trying to outdo each other, at times sacrificing the traditional aspects of Japanese food. Where has all the Japanese culture gone?

Nonetheless...

Swiss Rosti served with Japanese Curry

Crunchy, a pretty good stab at western, though not fusion at all, in my opinion. Lacks a familiar sweetness of onions found in that of Marche's rostis.

A tad bit oily, but packs a crunch

Mixed sprouts and shrooms stir-fried. Not too shabby

A chunky beef cheese burger with wasabi-cream. Pretty poor fusing in my opinion..

Not exactly worth it. Sauce was pretty bland... Egg still runny, white still runs clear. Perhaps they were 'rushing' to go home. If so, that's pretty poor work ethics to display at a restaurant, worsened by the fact that it's open concept.

Japanese Milk Tea in a bottle.

Was supposed to take a picture of my Apple Cider Vinegar drink. Very appetizing drink to start off the meal.

Service staff were pretty rude, though not all. Still, dulled the experience by a notch.

Verdict : Probably may return to try the other items, otherwise not likely to come back till they prove their worth. There are plenty of other places serving relatively similar styles, so not worth much more than 1-2 visits.
Shokudo can be found at Raffles City Shopping Centre basement.

Reviews aside, we had a pretty great time out. =) Taxis nowadays are getting more and more brazen in trying to earn more through underhanded means, instead of pure hard work and effort to make the ride a more pleasant one.

Made sure MM got home safe before going back. Smiles~ You're most certainly welcome.

WoooOooo Weee~

Good early morning to y'all. An infernal time to blog, if you ask me... but I just had to~ Today was a great day. Why, you ask? Brings us all to this question:

What good is a relatively foodie blog without any food?

So I say, here they are.

Pizza, before

That's right. Home-made Pizza today. Thin crust, in fact.
Let's take a closer look at what goes in:

A pizza dissected.

Though, apologies for not taking a picture of the product post-baking. Hunger drives one to do the unspeakable to food. Rest in piece(s). Your resonatingly crunchy crust will be remembered.

As with most kitchen missions, excess ingredients are expected. My upbringing does not allow for food to be wasted, so here they all go, onto a heavier crusted pizza.

Gargantuan? Not really. Just Grande.

Mmm.. Pile em' up real good and top off with cheeses and S&P. Into the oven at 230ºC. Moments later...

Poke~

Oh by the way, did I mention that it conveniently named itself?

A. Meet your maker.

Chomp.

Went out after the massacre. Will update in approx 8hours. =) Hope you enjoyed your day. I sure did~~ =)

G'Night sweets~

Welcome back?

Good morning all~

I'm back, by demand.... Yes yes I know my last post was in March.. But it's only been what, 3 months? lol~~ Thanks MM for your encouragement~ I'll post as and when I can alright?

I ended off with trading, and still, till now, I'm trading. So I guess it speaks for itself.

The past 3 months has been extremely hectic, with lots of tasks to accomplish at work, and plenty of situations occurring.. At least I'm still alive, lol..

Like I promised, I'd dedicate a post to you, so here~

I'd like to introduce readers to this individual who's so kind as to spend a couple hours with me over the phone ''just about'' (yes I know it's because I dozed off.. Told you sleep is evil and addictive...) every night, and being as sweet and caring as always. A continuous source of inspiration, an energizing dose of pick-me-up everytime I'm down, a shining beacon in the fogged up choppy seas.
Thank you MM~~ You know who you are. I suppose Serene does too, the know-it-all... =)

~Hugs~

Day 1 of Live Trading

Good evening all~

Well, it's been a good week, so it's time for change.
Make it count, and life will be so much more different. I welcome all who'd like to join me, because if I can do it, I believe anyone can. Change the world, that I'll do.

Surprising how fast the people in the US process stuff. They are so darned efficient. The entire set up for the account took less than 6hours; not bad.

More updates at the end of the day. =)

PS: Some people onboard are getting quite atrocious. Piece of uneducated, intellectually-challenged excrement. Doesn't seem like he'll go far in life. So sad for him; no money, no friends, not married at his age, career stuck in mud. Tsk tsk... Blessings for his worthless existence.

Whoops~

Hello people,

Sorry for the absence... Really so much going on these days... I've learnt a new thing, and it's been much more fun than any game I've ever played before.. =P Something actually meaningful (relatively, if used for the right reasons).

I'd like to thank the market for drawing my attention, because I've embarked on a new 'hobby' of sorts... =D

I'd also like to thank the US$ for being generous, as well as the Euro, and how could we forget the JP¥? Netted 4figures on the 1st day of practice, and 5figures on the 3rd day of practice. So much for practice... Markets have been really active due to the US near-recession state... Situations would improve though, in my opinion.

Hobbies aside, today was a wonderful day for trying out new stuff. =P For the first time in my life I had my brows trimmed. =P Not with a shaver blade, but with a spool of thread. Didn't hurt as much as it was said to though, no big hoo-haa.. =D, now I look metrosexual... Though not like it's a bad thing... Lawls.

Thanks for your time today~ More to come, Cheers~

Schedule should be picking up a little over the course of the next week. Bless the markets and you~ Gnite~!

JZ

PS: Just thought you'd like to see. This is the real market. Not an imaginary one. PM me for the detailed breakdown if you really don't believe it. Shrug.

Yay?

Pimp ma com! =D

Hey all~!
Havent posted for real long, I know.. I'm sorry; been busy with misc. stuff...

Anyway, I went to the com fair yesterday and GOODNESS was it packed. Spent quite a sum on com parts, but it's so long overdue, it had to be done. Bought a new 22inch LCD for ma com~ Eat that. =D

22in LCD to watch shows
Graphics Card to watch the shows beautifully
Extra RAM to support the processing
DVDR Dual Layer Drive to run and burn shows
DVD blanks to store shows
New Mouse that can magnify images at the click of a button =D

Yayness~ =D

Some days ago made chocolates. Didn't manage to take any pictures before they were sent to their new owner for consumption. Hope it's been enjoyed. =)

Weather's been inclement these days... Hope it will turn out fine on Wednesday! Ubin trip in planning; haven't been there in some time. The exercise and outdoors would do me good.

Update more later. Got stuff to do. Take care all

ARGH! DAMN YOU EVILDOER

Argh!!

Piece of advice to fellow chocolate enthusiasts:

Never ever leave a pot of warm molten,
perfectly tempered pot of chocolate covered with clingwrap on your kitchen countertop for more than 12hours

Why I say this, you ask? Simple.

I just lost a perfectly good pot of 74% chocolate to microbial colonies. That's right. They've set up camp on the smooth shiny surface of chocolate haven. Bloody immigrants. I've just been gone a little more than half a day and there you see squatters living off my chocolate. What has the darned world come to?
Toss and redo. It's that cruel. Painstaking indeed. Chocolatiers must be working in aseptic hospital-condition labs. Otherwise how do they fend off the immigrants?

Sigh... Woe is me.

Anyway, plenty of thanks to Prissie for showing me this site~

http://www.zefrank.com/flowers/

Check out what I made! =D

and and, here's some Salmon sashimi for Pris as thanks!

Hehe... Salmon Carpaccio with Wasabi-laced Aioli

Dig in~ =)

Back~

Hello!
Back from sail~~~
That means more rest! Muahahaha~~ Rest from today till Thursday morning. That's a good 4plus days of rest time. Sea is starting to ease out. A good sign indeed that the monsoon is totally over.

Spent some time watching a stupid show with horrendous subtitling onboard... What's with 'a life's debt of buttocks' ? Does it mean he owes a hell lot of ass or was it just a direct translation from '一身屁股载' ? F-ed up indeed... Laughing my arse off, they thought I flipped.

Saw this scoot that drew my attention~ Darned adorable. I present to thee:

The Gilera Fuoco

Freakin cute~. Yes it has 3 wheels. Looks so darned much like a dune buggy. Die-hard 2-wheel fans will definitely call this disgusting, but well, I find that it has enough improvements over the traditional 2-wheelers to justify it's appearance; I pay more attention to perfomance than appearance, moreover it looks pretty fine to me. No complaints there~ =D

Hmm... contemplating... Meantime, see y'all around.

Saturday, February 23, 2008

Yay~ =P

Good evening all~

I'm back home~ And it feels good. Gonna be home till Thursday morning. Meantime it's 'Sunday Routine' =). Basically means off day haha... Well, wasn't supposed to be sailing, but they required my services elsewhere.. So off I go for more sails... At least they let me rest, which is a good thing, of course..

A good start to the new year; won a little Toto money.. hehe... Yay? They say it's a good start to the Lunar Year if you win. I pray that the old adage runs true...

Alright, going out to see Saturn (what I heard...). Seeya later~

Lonely rivers flow to the sea

Hey all.

Tis' f-ed up. Waited so long for ship to finally go for repairs, so that I may rest; now they attach me out to another ship... Grumble... Oh well, I suppose it's good exposure anyway. Always a good thing to be in demand =D.

Toto opens tomorrow. Tons of people are buying or have already bought. I just know, don't act coy... Well, like they say, 有买就有的中,没买连想都不用想. Have you bought yours today? =)

Take care world~

=D

Update after so long =)

The Lunar New Year was good, with lots of food and extra moolah~ =)
Got to see alot of my relatives, including cousins and niece/nephews. My, have they grown.
Visited Nick after such a long time. Seems he's doing fine. Had a huge meal at William's, with food to waste as usual... New Year feast onboard was fine too, especially with a budget that size...

The day that just passed happened to be Valentine's. This year, Valentine's is quiet for me. Not too quiet actually, considering I just came back from a get-together with a few friends. =) I find that many people (guys especially) do silly things on Vday and not other days... They tend to spend more than what they can; for attention or for kicks? I don't know.. All I know is that now 2 guys are stuck out there with no way to get back home (spent all their money..) and 1 guy probably emo-ing away somewhere with cig and beer in hand (got 'pwned' by a girl). I pray for thee...

Nonetheless, thanks for the company yeah =). Appreciate it~

Vday is so overrated...

大年初一

Hello~! It's the Lunar New Year~!

It's 2hours 20minutes into the New Lunar Year, and oddly, I don't feel as much enthusiasm as in the previous years. It seems, that the New Year just feels like any other normal day right now. Odd indeed. I remember I used to get really excited as the new year draws near, where I'd get to see my relatives again, get to eat whatever I like, and most of all, get to take money from others in the form of red packets (It's just fun to receive money in little coloured packets). This year, the New Year spirit isn't felt as much as before. I seriously wonder, does age play a part in this? Do people dread the New Year as they age?

My guess? Once you're married, you'd find the New Year a chore. Why do people still celebrate the New Year then? Ritualistic tradition? Or just to find a reason for everyone to gather and dine together and catch up on the past years' achievements? Children aren't spared, as parents promptly recite their exam scores and aims for the honour of 'Family Top Scholar 2008'.
Bullshit.

Yesterday the ship hired a lion dance troupe to perform their usual mumbo jumbo for the formation and the ship. Watching it can get addictive, but it passes real quickly. Why do people still shell out $588 for a short performance anyway? Sure pays well to do all that. Nonetheless, good effort; was an enjoyable day. =)

Much is going on in my mind. I'm confused. Once again. Going to bed soon. Good night.

JZ

Sunday, February 03, 2008

Blargh~!

Today is the day for randomness~

=)

As the Chinese New year draws near, many are itching to get their grubby hands on the red packets... Sigh... Those days are over for me... No, don't get me wrong; I'm not married. It's just that the money that used to seem like treasure now seems like pocket change... Oh well, all I look forward to is to see my extended family after so long. It's always amusing to go back and see new members in the family, and new dress senses. Some realize their errors of past years, and as for some, some things never change... =P

Had been busy these days... Such is the life of a sailor. Well, at least I get a short break for the moment, before I get busy again.

Went shopping for CNY clothing. I hope for the best of luck for this year, therefore I bought a red shirt.. =) How traditional indeed... But as with all things, balance is important, so I bought a black and white short sleeved shirt. =D How rebellious. Random? Indeed.

Feeling pissed, annoyed, yet calm, composed. What's right and what's wrong? What's better, what's worse? I don't know for sure. All I pray for is wellbeing for the new year. I can only pray.
Heed my prayer. Please.

Back and gone again

Quick update before I catch up on sleep. =)

Back from Indonesia yesterday, and back to base today to resupply my refrigerator... Haha

Indonesia has the cheapest food one can find... Spent about 600 000 rupiah (works out to about SGD$90) for a seafood feast for a table of 8. =) Had lots of gonggong, clams, prawns, fish, kangkong, local beer, I'd say it was ZHI DE! (Stupid food shows get to me real easily...) Went for a clean massage with the whole lot, then finished off with a few drinks at a KTV lounge... Beer costs about a dollar a can there... Goodness, even heard from some of the other guys that they had standard serving of Bak Kut Teh with the side dishes for SGD$1.50... Mac's costs about 2.50 to under 4 dollars, depending on what you order, and they serve FANTA as an option for drinks there! How vintage is that man~

Spent about $80 there, of which a few dollars from everyone went to the arcade there, where we played extremely aggressive air hockey, and games that gave out coupons for exchanging stuff with... What did we get with 1100+ coupons? About 120 Chupa Chups. =) Considering the cheapest CChups you can find in Singapore is about 40c (if you're darned lucky), 120 Chups would cost about $48? Trust me when I say we spent far less than that... =D Everyone was sucking on something at the end of the day (Don't get sick now, you demented arse)..

Resup was extremely tiring, with so much maintenance to carry out... At least I cleared most of the to-dos, the next few trips will be alot simpler and relaxed. That would give me alot more time to plan the CNY feast they requested... Odd that they'd want a western menu for CNY celebrations... No matter, a good time to showcase my art, prove my mettle; I won't ruin my chances.

Pride, Passion, Perfection.
The way of the Pegasus. =)

Tis' what I live by.

Quickie

Good evening all~

Quick update and post before I leave. =)

Tis' been a good weekend~ Finally caught Le Grand Chef before it comes down from the cinema... Sorry.. I so wanted to catch it at the cinemas so I went ahead to watch it. =P Typical Korean sob story filled with tears and all, bound to tug at the heartstrings of softies... So much it hit me a tiny bit. =P

Watched 27 Dresses as well, a pretty good show, I must say. Contains a tiny bit of adult language, the way I like it. =D~ Also stumbled upon an ole' flame/classmate/crush of sorts... Tis' been nearly 10years since the last encounter, and 7years since last caught sight of her... Well, I must say, she hasn't changed much; filled with confidence with every word she says, a poise carried only by those who are capable enough to, an air of elegance enhanced by her dress sense and visage. Twas' the reason back then. =) Glad to hear that she's fine after all these years, as usual.

Won't be back for another coupla' days. You all take great care of yourselves. I'll be back.

2nd day onboard

Good evening all~

2nd Day of life onboard... Hmm.. Been doing mostly tidying up and cleaning up. The action starts tomorrow. Won't be around for a night or two to update, so be patient people. =) The ship is seriously overstocked... Imagine over 20kgs of coffee powder for a ship that rarely sails more than a few days... Or about 3-5hundred kilos of canned food... Okay maybe a little exaggerated... But seriously, take one look at it and you'll wonder how much expiry contributes to the total food waste onboard... Oh well.

Going to Batam on Monday. Gonna do some shopping =D

Update soon~ Seeya

Monday, January 21, 2008

Sigh sigh sigh

Good evening~

The weekend has been pretty eventful... Started off on Friday... That was the 3rd consecutive day we've been making doughnuts... Damned people just want it like everyday... Don't they get sick of it...? Nonetheless, Friday was a showcase of my ruthlessness in the quest for quality control...

Imagine this, you're working in a kitchen, and you see an adorable furry little mouse, scurrying across your haven. What would you do? Would you:

a) Pick it up and stash it away in the hopes that you've finally found your Remy (Ratatouille),
b) Chase it out the backdoor hoping that no one spots it, or
c) Pick up a ladle of boiling water and empty it over the little adorable mouse.

If you picked anything other than C, you're not cut out for the kitchen.

Yes, you heard me right. You have no other option than to eliminate any pest that sets foot in your kitchen. You let it live the day, it'll bring family the very next. Apparently this other guy found me to be 'chek ark'; he needs to realise that chefs aren't very compassionate people towards roaches and rodents. Neither to poultry, cows and pigs. But don't get me wrong though; I do not kill hamsters kept in cages. Just make sure it's disease-carrying kin stays out of my kitchen.

Twas' a pitiful sight, watching the little thing leap into the air in a futile attempt to get out of harms way, scurrying towards a gas pipe and jumping on, clinging for its very life. It was literally hugging onto the yellow pipe, probably shivering in fear. Sadly, I just reloaded the ladle and proceeded to bathe it brutally. It squealed and squirmed all over the floor, writhing in agonizing pain. It was still alive. I had to put an end to it's misery, the decision for the day clear that it was not going to live to tell the story to it's eventual offspring. It would be far more cruel to discard it handicapped and leave it to starve to death eventually. Putting a stop to it's misery would be a far more humane option. I filled the ladle with boiling doom and ended it all. It squealed its last and lay there, stiff and straight. I offered a silent prayer for its departed soul. It was over.

That was Friday. Was also the day we left Sembawang Naval Base, never to return for the next couple months.
Had sushi at Mura that night. =) Hope you enjoyed it~ I sure did.

Saturday
Was pretty slow... Didn't accomplish much, sad to say, asides from tidying up (becoming a hobby...). Went out to cut my hair, then had dinner at Din Tai Fung @ Tampines Mall. Starting to wonder how much I actually spend on meals per month... Easily upwards of $500? Gotta start trimming a little... Have to admit, I'm pretty much a spender when it comes to food... Don't feel the after effects though.. =P Received news that a friend's mother passed on... Condolences mon ami..

Sunday
Wanted to go for KTV, but last minute events changed everything... Then was supposed to meet another friend for lunch; again, something cropped up, this time with me. After settling my stuff I went down to meet William and gang for badminton from 1500hrs - 1600hrs. Actually went to purchase a racket just to play. At least that would serve as motivation to play more regularly... Haha... Cabbed down to William's place to wait for the next session from 2000 - 2200hrs. =P
1 hour of badminton is never enough. Went home aching and sore from overstretching... The years are catching up on me...

Monday
Today is Mum's birthday! 21012008. Lots to do today. Started by preparing the ingredients for a cake for mum. =) Cream Cheese Pound Cake with Almond Cherry filling and Creme Chantilly frosting? A mouthful indeed... It's just what it is, no fancy names. Fun fun fun~ Baking is addictive, especially if you have an income to sustain it. Bakery can get pretty expensive...
Went for coffee at ٭$ (Starbucks.. =D ), then went home for chilli crab =). Yays~ Guilty as charged of gluttony, I am. I confess and acknowledge that I am a sinner. =P Bought a book of Chinese recipes for just a hair under $10. I so so suck at Chinese cuisine.. =) Still learning, so don't judge me just yet~. The book's going onboard too, hurhur..

Packed and ready to board tomorrow. Hope it'll be smooth sailing (not likely... sea state would kill) and enjoyable. More updates soon~ Gnite

Distance? Painful

You seem distant. You seem different. You seem to do things look at things differently, as compared to the usual Queen. What seems to be the problem now, your highness...? I pray that ALL will be alright for you... Take great care~

Ladida

Hey people. It's been quite awhile...

I've posted out of Sembawang! Where to? Tuas... It just gets further and further... W-t-f... At least I'm drawing my long long overdue Corporal rank like next week. It is officially 5 months overdue...

Anyway, about my posting? I am proud to say that now I'm the Chief Chef for the 2nd Team on RSS Brave =D. My appointment so roxors my boxors. =P (So gonna go to hell for talking like that...) Gotta start planning menus and meals... The lucky bastards will eat well. =) (I hope, haha). Considering that its going to be somewhat a 1-man job for the ship, I guess it'll give me alot of room to improve and advance myself through intense practice. Will get to travel quite a fair deal too, though not very far, with this vessel. Going to Indonesia in a week or so... Fast huh...

A little odd, that only after going down to Sembawang MRT every weekday for the past 5.5weeks, that I realised barely a week ago that there's an extremely well-stocked bakeshop by Phoon Huat there. They sell like every single thing a baker would need, even outfits! Doodled around today, and ended up spending over $70 on miscellaneous equipment and materials. =) I'm gonna have fun this weekend~

Mom's birthday is on Monday. It's an off day for me too, so I guess I'll be tinkering around the kitchen a little. Still thinking what I should make though. It dawned upon me today that I seem to take quite a liking to bakery as well. Its relatively costlier than cooking, but there's just too many events and festivities that call upon baked products and confectionery, much more than main courses. =) Moreover, desserts are pretty related to bakery too. Well, it never hurts to learn more. Gonna register for my Bike lessons tomorrow. Then I'll start rushing practicals =P. Looking forward to so much this year... Let it be a good one.

Darned weather...

Good evening... Nasty weather has hit me hard... Another case of URTI and flu.. damn... Food tends to taste bland when I'm unwell.. Still, life has to go on and bills have to be paid.. =)

Spent most of my day recuperating at home. A big thank you goes out to the nurse who took great care of me and kept me company. =) I appreciate it, thank you~ Tis' uplifting to know that someone cares.

Went out in the evening to settle a little stuff... Gosh, the festive season really puts a huge dent on everyone's wallet... Bills and supplies came up to almost 500$... Phone repair (fcked up reason... Don't bloody ask...), card bill, toiletries, food and ingredients... Yeah, that's about it. I shall dedicate every weekend to tinkering around in my kitchen. =) Practice makes perfect~

Pride, Passion, Perfection.
These 3 words I live by. Pegasus company individuals may find this familiar =) (hint: Company Polo-T, which happens to be my favourite polo).

Honorable mention for the day goes out to the young Lad and the blind man who usually stays between the Tampines MRT station and Tampines Mall. His singing brings tears to my eyes... I guess I'm a huge softie after all. All the best to him; he'll go far if he maintains and improves his skill through practice and passion... Do support him alright? A few bucks never hurt anyone; the gift of giving warms hearts even in freezing weather... I wonder when he'll get talent-spotted.

Oh well, off to rest and recuperate... Take care all~ =)

Sigh... There's just about nothing worse than being unwell near a weekend, but fact is, I'm feeling far worse than just being down with flu and urti.. Tis' all because of matters of the heart. The one place that hurts the most when people with significance aren't feeling exactly the way you wish they would, or when they get emotional and yet doesn't want any help from you... Well... That's life? I'm bailing out, if that's it...

Emo matters aside, at work each day, we wait and wait for our posting... Wondering where we would be sent to, and what awaits us in the year, bright and new. It matters alot where we would get posted to, due to the fact that it affects the amount of time we'd get to spend at home, or close to home. It's either you get to see mom just about everyday, or you'll end up spending the next 5 public holidays overseas...

Also affects the amount of time I'd be able to see you.

Yellowcard Lyrics

Sigh... Memories..

Good evening.

Before I start, let me share with you a pretty interesting phrase.

"Like how men are told not to question a lady's age, a woman shall never question a gentleman's income level"
Quote from: A wise indian man.

I find this amusing, yet pretty just. Keep that in mind, people.

Today I feel that past relationships are indeed haunting, and tend to hit a person when he/she feels low, and that, in turn, makes the person feel lower. Why is this so? Why can't people just forget stuff at his/her free will? Reason is simple.

The environment.

Everywhere you go, everywhere you turn to, there's bound to be places and corners where moments we once shared. Even items; it can be the comb she once used every single morning before going to work, or the toothbrush you used to share every morning (Yes, I'm aware). Even the scent of her perfume that hits you on the train would remind you of the hugs you used to get before leaving for camp/work/school.

Just before I reached home. I saw this really friendly malay auntie neighbour; she'd refer to me as her child (gosh...) and never fails to ask how life has been for me whenever she sees me. Today, she asked again, so I just commented on my career in the RSN now, she just had to ask,"So boy, how's your girlfriend?"

I so so SO wanted to play her this song.

The Vandals - My Girlfriend's Dead

Sigh... Memories.. II

Sigh indeed. Will post more later...

Tis been a long while...Sorry

Good afternoon.. It's been awhile since the update... I'm sorry... Much as been said and done, much has taken place, and plenty of stuff committed in the past 5 days... Interesting indeed...

New Year's Day.
Went bumbling around in the kitchen... Made a few stuff. Part of it for my family, part of it for the Queen. Pretty much a revision session in my opinion. Hope you liked it, glad if you did. =)

The Night of New Year's Day will be eternally etched onto my mind, and kept in my heart. I'll never forget, and I'll always hold it close. It will be done as it is said.

2nd Jan
Tiring day indeed. Little has happened, besides the excessive amount of catchup sleep to be had. Dreamt of events that makes me think, and wonder if that would be what the future has in store for me. Sometimes I wonder, when people say that dreams are merely amplifications of what is in your head at that point of time... So what are dreams then? Clairvoyance? Or merely illusions? No one really knows I guess..

3rd Jan
You called in the middle of the night. I didn't realize.. I'm sorry I went back to sleep. Would have wanted supper, but the Sandman got the better of me.. F*ck you, evil Sandman (not literally..) Were you hungry?

Went down to the shop after work today... Sister's not as bad a nightmare as imagined before. Touched math for the first time in 4years or so; took some time before things started to become familiar. I guess it still was fun as before, and suppose that it (weakness in math =P) runs in the family. =D Practice more. It would help loads.
Twas' a good evening, but Blue Oasis seriously needs a broader selection of main courses. No matter, it will take time I guess, and Dexter, I will be back. Think hard. I will be waiting. Had a good night's rest, though still felt a little lethargic in the morning... Reluctance to leave the bed...

4th Jan
Typical Friday, aye? Somethings never change... Oh well.. Nonetheless, had a pretty good dinner (of sorts...), and exciting conversation... ;P You really like that, don't you. Hope you had a good rest, despite the circumstance. Hugz~ =P

Sunny day. Hope it will be relaxing and enjoyable. Will go swimming I guess. Ciaoz

Brand New?

Good morning everyone. It's 2008. Yeah... Like, it's the New Year, y'all! So very 'whatever'... I find the New Year nothing much more than a Brand New Day, not much of a Brand New Year... The 1st Sunrise of 2008 came at about 0707hrs. Sun of a New Day indeed. That's all about it I guess. Will probably stay home, right in my kitchen. A new beginning should start with a good meal. Or, You shouldn't start the New Year on an empty stomach. What sounds better? Then again, like whatever...
